Trial Membership

Contact the Group Leader on gl.riverside@scoutstas.org.au to arrange to attend a scout meet. Often the groups will be away from the Scout Hall doing activities particularly in summer, so contacting the group leader will ensure you do not turn up to the Scout Hall when they are away.

When you turn up to the Scout Hall, you will be asked to complete an electronic trial application form using a QR code. Noting there are two parts to registering and a second email be sent which also needs to be completed. This adds the youth member into the Scouts Tasmania system as a Trial Member.

After four weeks decide if the youth member will be joining Scouts.

Ready to Join

 When a youth member joins a scout group they are invested. The Investiture Ceremony is a welcoming ceremony that symbolises a new Scout's entry into the Scouting movement.  

From the night of investiture, your child will be expected to wear uniform. Scout uniforms are available from the Scout Shop. https://scoutshop.com.au/

Your child will receive their Riverside Scout scarf, woggle and several badges at their investiture, the cost is included in your first account.

Costs

 Initial Fee is $215, subsequent terms are $95 per term.

Naturally with Scouting being fundamentally an outdoors based program there will, from time to time, be sleepovers, camps, hikes and other excursions, which your child will no doubt want to attend. The cost of these activities, which is kept to a minimum, covers items like food and site fees, is in addition to the term fees.

Financial Help

We appreciate that funds can sometimes be tight. If you need a bit of help with the cost of a camp etc or if you want to spread the payments, then please contact the Treasurer on tr.riversidescouts@outlook.com .

We are as flexible as possible and would rather know in advance than be chasing you later! All matters are treated with the strictest confidence.

Please go to https://tickettoplay.tas.gov.au to see if your child is eligible. Voucher codes to be emailed to admin@tas.scouts.com.au , the amount received will be used to reduce the amount you pay on term fees.
